The lodge
Why East Iceland
Where the aurora outnumbers the people
Breiðdalsvík has 139 residents and almost no light pollution. The fjord faces north, straight into the polar arc, and on a clear winter night the sky here turns green, violet, and red while the rest of the country sleeps. Bjálki sits in its own valley right next to Beljandi Brewery and Hotel Breiðdalsvík, so when the lights flare you do not need to leave the hot tub.
